In the Darkness (Di Dalam Kelam) is a poem from one of the collections in Nyanyi Sunyi, a poetry collection by Amir Hamzah, published by 1937 in Poedjangga Baroe magazine. It is assumed the poems inside Nyanyi Sunyi, including Di Dalam Kelam, was written when the poet was forced to marry the daughter of Sultanate of Langkat because he was obligated to do so.

Synopsis of the music:

Amir Hamzah has confusions in his life, so he seeks a guide to make his life better. The adventure of the exploration drags him into faith problems and life ups and downs, which he also realizes it.
As a man with big curiosities, he keeps striving and begging to his love which he thinks that love will help him. As he knows, the distant, hard journey will never stop, but he still wanted to drape his hopes and surrender in his life relying on his love. Because for him, it is impossible to gain peace for people who always curious and hesitated but has no possibilities to stop or even going back.
In the end, he can't get any peace after discovering that blessings don't come without consequences.
