Composed by Erich Kästner, Edmund Nick. Arranged by Frank Reifenstahl. 20th Century,Blues,Jazz. Score. 12 pages. Frank Reifenstahl #6363131. Published by Frank Reifenstahl (A0.944678).

Another song from the composer duet Kästner Nick. Subtitled 'blues', but it feels less like that than the other Kästner song I recently uploaded. The german title means "The chant of the prodigal son" and portraits the situation of a sad woman waiting wistfully to meet her beloved son. I did not find an "official" english translation for the song lyrics, so I added my idea of it (I am NO English native speaker). Feel free to rectify what sounds rough, feedback will be highly appreciated!

Though the piece is subtitled "blues", it feels more like a classical piece with a jazz twist. Nicks harmonies are fantastic, and some bars of the guitar part need professional skills. This piece is definitely for very advanced to pro musicians.
