Schubert composed many songs and song cycles in his life. Death of the Maiden is on of the most popular of his songs, so much so he turned some of the ideas of the song into a string quartet in 1824. This arrangement for oboe and piano is ideal for the beginner/intermediate performer and is a great way to introduce students to Schubert and 19th Romantic Music.
