Published by Cristiano Vecchi (A0.1548309)."Das alte Jahr vergangen ist" ("The old year now hath passed away", BWV 288), a meditative and grateful chorale with a fascinating chromatic accompaniment that evokes a passed year full of challenges and troubles, all resolved in the end; here in an arrangement for Violin, Viola, Cello, in which the phrasing follows the syllabation of the german lyrics as much as possible, while dynamics are an interpretation of mine. The four-part chorale has been translated on the trio without loss of information, through the polyphonic technique of the strings.
