Dancing Lights is a bright, lively, and glimmering piano solo. The music was inspired by the nighttime sky on Florida’s west coast, from the northern point of Anna Maria Island. Looking across Tampa Bay, colorful lights glisten brightly; it is the Sunshine Skyway Bridge, sparkling on the water with different light colors and patterns every night. The brilliant and changing display of shimmering lights truly appear to dance on the water!
This engaging piece is enjoyable for both students and recital audiences. The straight-forward rhythm and continuous 16th notes provide a splendid opportunity for finger technique development. Reviewer Kathy Parsons of Mainly Piano writes, “It’s a beautiful piece and a lot of fun to play!”
Dancing Lights, from the solo piano album A Seaside View, can be found worldwide on all major listening platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, Pandora, SoundCloud, etc.
