This piece was written as an introduction to D minor and the low second finger in the upper strings. Hopefully your students will enjoy the dark melody and feel the frenzy of the driving eighth notes, especially in the lower strings. The orchestra passes through the eye of the storm in measures 17-39, but tension builds again in measure 40 as the original melody returns for a stormy finish!
