The simplicity of the melody allows the soloist to focus on the words and vocal dynamics as the audience is drawn to the beauty of God's Word expressed musically.
Though the piece is written for voice it also makes a beautiful instrumental piece with a C-instrument playing the solo part (such as the violin). For the violin, all notes can be played in the first position on the G, D, and A strings making this an excellent selection for a beginning violin student.
