Inspired by the 150th birthday of Sergei Rachmaninov in 2023, the work is a tribute to the master. Consolation Nr. 2 continues the romantic and warm mood of its predecessor, but is imbued with lightness and a fast, hopeful atmosphere. Felix Reuter describes it as an artistic development and a deeper exploration of the expression of emotions on the piano in comparison to Consolation Nr. 1.
