If you are teaching a group of students with mixed ability levels, and you want to find a tune they will all love, add this tune to your repertoire!
This "spicy" concerto has a light-hearted, peppy, baroque feel. l wrote it for a group of students that included a couple of advanced players, ten complete beginners who would need to perform for the first time six weeks after getting their instruments, and a core group of early intermediate players. I wanted each musician to enjoy their part, and I wanted it to be a piece the audience would rave about as they took their kids out for post-concert ice cream that evening.
It still retains is zest even without the advanced part, and if you want to add a little more heat there is even space for students to write or improvise a cadenza!
