Leopold Mozart, Vater des unerreichten Genies Wolfgang Amadeus, komponierte ebenfalls Musik, stand und steht aber verständlicherweise im Schatten seines Sohnes. Sein Trompetenkonzert ist gar zweimal überliefert, nämlich auch als Bestandteil einer Serenata. Dieses Concerto per il Clarino steht im Original in D-Dur. Gábor Darvas veröffentlichte 1967 Partitur und Orchesterstimmen in einer um eine Quinte tiefer transponierten Fassung, was ihre Spielbarkeit für Trompeter erleichterte.
