Concert Version: Darwin: To Love the Earth is a concert musical (optional staging) about the life of Charles Darwin.  This is an abbreviated version of the musical Charles Darwin: To Love the Earth This is a piano-vocal score. The main singing role is of Darwin (tenor), plus his wife, Emma (soprano), and sister Caroline( alto) and the friend, Henslow. There are several speaking roles, and a chorus which is offstage. The words come from Darwin and letters from friends. It shows how he was successful in many ways but was always criticized which he had difficulty enduring. The piano-vocal score is for rehearsal - the Concert version is accompanied by a chamber orchestra.
