Historic Edition
This is a vital addition to my collection of the Beethoven sonatas. The reprint quality is not perfect but it's well-bound considering how inexpensive it is compared with other editions. Schenker was perhaps the first to bring out a well-researched and scholarly edition of the sonatas. His fingerings are good, similar in some ways to Schnabel's, and as with the latter's, I'm not in agreement with all of them. I enjoy it for its historical relevance and turn to it as I do my other editions when I'm studying a particular sonata.
