COMMENCEMENT SUITE was created to provide a musical alternative to the commonly used processional and recessional marches during most graduation/commencement ceremonies. It is written with significant optional repeats to allow for appropriate length no matter the size of the graduating class. In addition, it is scored taking into account that the most experienced players (senior students) are likely not performing in the ensemble during the commencement ceremony. Procession Of The Nobles by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov is included for use as the processional march. Nimrod from Enigma Variations by Edward Elgar is provided as a musical interlude should your ceremony allow for such. Colonel Bogey by Lt. F. J. Ricketts is included for use as the recessional march. The score contains numerous alternative performance suggestions to allow for musical variety during lengthy performances where sections are repeated numerous times and alternate instruments may be utilized to vary the performance.
