The traditional Korean song "Arirang" is heard throughout concert halls and music classroom throughout the world. This original concert band suite was inspired by and built around that beautifully haunting melody. The "Arirang Pass" is a place where an imaginary rendezvous of lovers takes place and the fair maid and heroine of the story is killed by an unrequited lover. In more recent history the story has been modified to be that of an unrequited lady who complained of her unfeeling lover. This simple yet lovely melody was an exceptional song and believe that Brad has effectively made it the focal point of this wonderful addition to the modern concert band/wind band repertoire.
