One never gets the feeling that the driver is angry--just anxious to get to his destination. A measure of silence punctuated by a persistent note is a startling attention-getter. The patterns throughout are constantly dovetailing, giving the intermediate pianist a thrill when they fit together perfectly. Fingering is designed to be memorable and repetitive; this piece is a favorite with my students. They love to memorize it for public performance and just for thrills to play for their friends. Across the board, students rise to the challenges of a brisk tempo and the changes of mood, syncopation, and use of the whole keyboard.
