The Backyardigans is a Canadian-American CGI musical series created by Janice Burgess. It is a co-production of Nelvana Animation Studio, Guru Studio and Nickelodeon Animation Studios. The series premiered The show is broadcast on Treehouse TV in Canada. In 2011, the first season was included as part of the Noggin app. The series was based on a live-action pilot produced in 1998, titled Me and My Friends. The series features five anthropomorphic animal friends who teach musical rhythms, stimulate body movements, and develop imagination.
