''Carrapato'' is a parasite that sticks to the skin and is abundant on the trails of Chapada dos Veadeiros, a composition site in Goiás, Brazil. On the day of composing this song I wanted to make a more contemplative song but there was a sound coming from far away that didn't let me concentrate, it was possible to hear the rhythm of the drums playing an Arrocha, a genre that is very danceable. As I wasn't able to make a slow song, I took advantage of the rhythm I heard in the distance and made this Maxixe, as it was totally influenced by Arrocha, I used elements from both genres. Guaranteed moments of fun for musicians who alternate between melodies and counterpoints with a rhythmic base with polyrhythms, this concert band version is an excellent way to create a moment of joy for the entire audience.
With its simple melody, it's a song that sticks like a tick and you always want to hear it again.
