Sometimes life just gets too hectic and slowing down, just a little, to smell the roses is well worth it - even if we just slow the tempo down to a medium swing!
So here is Captain Slow, a blues swing in the key of F major, for pianists who enjoy jazz and are at about the Grade 4 (ABRSM, AMEB or RCM) standard.
This piece is a kind of 'half-time' blues over 24 bars, rather than the usual 12 bar format. It also features an improvisation section, but don't panic... There is a written solo which you can always repeat and maybe even tweak here with your own interpretation!
