This is a fun piece for two Violas, playing the same part, but with one player starting one bar after the other player. There are two separate printed parts, plus a score with both parts. It is by Domenico Gabrielli, anItalian composer and Cello virtuoso, who was born in Bologna in1651. He became widely known as a Cello virtuoso and composer of Vocal music. He wrote 12 operas in the 1680s, but he contracted an incurable disease and died inBologna in July 1690.
