In this work, the composer Gerald Oswald tells of the song and dance of the medicine man Buffalo. His songs and the sound of the drums are heard far off on the prairie. This ceremony serves to give thanks to Buffalo, who ensures the survival of the tribe.

Ver over de prairie weerklinken prachtige klanken.. Het is het gezang en getrommel van medicijnman Buffalo! Componist Gerald Oswald nam dit gegeven als onderwerp voor zijn compositie. Deze ceremonie is een dankbetuiging aan Buffalo, die zijn indianenstam behoedt voor gevaar.

Der Komponist Gerald Oswald erzählt in seinem Werk vom Tanz und vom Gesang des Medizinmannes Buffalo. Dessen Gesänge und die Klänge der Trommeln erfüllen die Weiten der Prärie. Mit dieser Zeremonie drückt der Stamm seine Dankbarkeit Buffalo gegenüber aus, der ihr Überleben sichert.
