Recorded by Ella Fitzgerald. Edited by Jeffrey Sultanof and Rob DuBoff. Arranged by Nelson Riddle. Jazz Vocal. Range: Trumpet 1: A5; Trombone 1: G4. Ballad. Full score. Published by Jazz Lines Publications (JL.JLP-9451S).This sultry and lush arrangement was written by Nelson Riddle for Ella Fitzgerald's 1962 album 'Ella Swings Gently with Nelson.' This is a studio orchestra arrangement featuring a string section along with a full big band - an optional synthesizer part is included that may be used in place of the strings. This publication, which is based on the original Riddle score and is not a transcription, features a tenor solo section that was cut for the master take recording (there is an alternate take version on the CD that has this section). Both alto saxophones and tenor saxophone 1 double on flute and piano doubles on celeste. This is Riddle at his finest.
