Warm weather folks miss out on a lot of cold winter things: embers smoldering in a fireplace, boots and socks soaked by snow, the warm embrace of a cup of coffee on a cold morning. This piece paints a picture of those dark but beautiful days of winter. The vocal line and piano part are simple, but the accompaniment is not. Ability to handle tricky rhythms and entrances, extended techniques (col legno) and strong ensemble communication skills required. Has a Joni Mitchell vibe.
