I own all five of Fred's large volumes, and use this one the most, since its contents are most relevant to today. I LOVE this book. Handling Fred's harmonies is best done reading all the way through the selection, and noting his transitions, which can get thick with chord changes to the point that I don't believe proofing weeded out all the printing errors. No matter! Read away, and get swept up in his sense of majesty, lyricism, and even humor. Rest in peace, Fred Bock. You should know how you continue to bless my church's services!

I love the songs and they start out really pretty, but then they all get Bocked! The intro/puzzle pages talk about Fred Bock's love of weird chords and boy does he use them. I don't like most of the arrangements in this book because of the weird chords. They slow me down because I can't believe that's how the music is supposed to sound.
