SKU: BZ.ENMS-84337

Composed by Daisuke Ehara. Chamber Music. Ensemble. Score & parts. Duration 5:50. Bravo Music #ENMS-84337. Published by Bravo Music (BZ.ENMS-84337).

This saxophone quintet was commissioned by COLORS. It has two sections: jazzy music in a fast tempo and a calm sailor's song. It is in a ternary form: fast-slow-fast, and the piece ends with the melody of the first half. Throughout, there is a sense of color in the sound (due to the use of jazz-style chords with tension notes), maintaining a rich vertical resonance and a smooth, speedy flow while keeping spirited until the end. The title suggests a dark evening twilight, almost blue-like darkness. The combination of the nighttime imagery and jazz creates a very classic atmosphere. (Daisuke Ehara).
