Banish the Moon is a musical description of a magical sunrise. It begins in the dark with the sounds of crickets and frogs calling softly. The tune in the clarinet and flute brings in the first hints of light. Instruments are introduced as the light grows and the character and colour of the music changes to reflect the ever-changing colours of the sunrise. The song culminates in full bright glorious sunshine.
