Die Stücke in diesem Buch stammen aus zwei Ballett-Werken, die Jean-Baptiste Lully für den Hof von Ludwig den XIV, den Sonnenkönig, geschrieben hat. Paul M. Douglas schuf aus den ursprünglich für ein fünfstimmiges Streicherensemble geschriebenen Stücken Barockmusik für zwei Altblockflöten und Basso continuo.
