Arranged by Henry Will. Score and parts. Published by Walrus Music Publishing (WA.55642).Ave Maria in Latin means Hail Mary. It was composed by Franz Schubert in 1825 as part of his Opus 52, a setting of seven songs from Walter Scott's popular epic poem The Lady of the Lake, loosely translated into German. Although the song is a prayer, Schubert's Ave Maria was not written with religious practices or the Catholic Church in mind. Probably because of the songs opening words, Schubert's melody has since been adopted for use with the traditional Roman Catholic prayer (in Latin) of the same name. Ave Maria has become one of Schubert's most popular works, performed and recorded by a wide variety and large number of musicians, under the title of Ave Maria. It features lead trumpet solo along with a clarinet lead soli, trombone soli, and an ensemble chorus. The chart is scored for 1 clarinet, 2 altos, 2 tenors, 4 trumpets, 4 trombones, Piano, Bass, and Drums. Lead trumpet to written high C above the staff. Medium level.
