I think that we all love playing duets, and here is a fun piece that comes in different grade levels from absolute beginner to intermediate, playable either as a duet or as a solo.
The Witchetty grub, is a term used in Australia for the large, white, wood-eating larvae of several moths. It is sought out as a very high-protein food by Aboriginal Australians.
I think that we all love playing duets, and here is a fun piece that comes in different grade levels from absolute beginner to intermediate, playable either as a duet or as a solo.
The Witchetty grub, is a term used in Australia for the large, white, wood-eating larvae of several moths. It is sought out as a very high-protein food by Aboriginal Australians.
I composed Australian Witchetty Grub Boogie, for a very young student of mine. At the time it was only one page. Now it consists of 11 different versions.
For the very young beginner, the student can play the melody line on its own, with just the right hand. Two versions of the melody line are provided; one with fingering (the easier version), and one without the fingering, which will be a little bit harder.
The piece can also be played as a duet, with the beginner playing just the right hand (Primo), and the teacher or a more advanced student playing the left-hand (Secondo). The left hand versions each get harder, which gives a good workout for the fingers in a true boogie woogie style.
