By Charlie Parker. By Charlie Parker. Arranged by Charlie Parker. This edition: audio, pdf, streaming. Jazz, R & B, Soul, Standards, Wedding. Lead Sheet / Fake Book. 3 pages. Jerry Aldini #1146211. Published by Jerry Aldini (A0.1574413).
This is a transcription of "Au Privave" by Charlie Parker. This transcription includes not only Parker's solo but also the solos from the trumpet player, Miles Davis, and the pianinst, Walter Bishop Jr. These solos are excellent demonstrations of jazz/bebop language. One thing worth noting in particular, is how each musician emphasizes the "hit", or the beat from the drummer that leads into beat 1 of the following measure. This is one aspect of their playing that gives a clear direction and a predictable rhythm to each of their unique solos. The head and solos are included along the corresponding chords in the chart for easy analysis. There are a lot of excellent phrases in here and I hope you learn as much or more than I have from transcribing them.
