The 1996 Summer Olympic Games in Atlanta acted as the inspirationfor Wim Laseroms to compose this piece. It is in the form of aconcert march and its brilliant festive lyrical style reflects the bestof everything about this most prestigious sporting event. De Olympische Spelen van 1996 in Atlanta inspireerden Wim Laseroms bij het componeren van deze aanstekelijke mars. Van trompet- en hoorngeschal tot een prachtige lyrische melodie in het trio: deze mars heeft alle ingrediënten om eenfeestelijke sfeer te creëren.

Die olympischen Sommerspiele 1996 in Atlanta inspirierten Wim Laseroms zu diesem Stück, das jetzt, zu den Olympischen Spielen in Peking, wieder hochaktuell ist. Von den Trompeten- und Hornklängen in der Einleitung über das Frage- und Antwortspiel zwischen Blech und hohem Holz im Mittelteil bis hin zu der prachtvollen lyrischen Melodie im Trio ist Atlanta `96 ein durch und durch attraktiver Titel, den Sie immer wieder gerne spielen werden.

En 1996, la ville d’Atlanta organisait les Jeux Olympiques d’Été. Wim Laseroms s’est inspiré de ce grand événement sportif pour composer cette marche de concert. La composition est la hauteur de l’événement : brillante, grandiose, festive et lyrique.
