Bach's great monument to the Fugue has been newly transcribed by Ralph Sauer for 4-part Trombone Ensemble. Volume 1 contains Contrapuncti 1 through 5. Although playable by a quartet, the Fugues may be performed by a larger ensemble with the included optional divisi. Playable by moderately advanced players, this should be a major part of any Trombone ensemble program. Volumes 2, 3 and 4 are in preparation.
