"Aren’t You Kind of Glad We Did?" is an unused George Gershwin song recycled posthumously by brother Ira for the 1947 film The Shocking Miss Pilgrim (Dick Haymes and Betty Grable) – a story about the Women’s Suffrage movement of 1874, and equality in the workplace. The film was a disappointment. This song didn’t get radio airplay (as recorded by Dick Haymes and Judy Garland) because censors inferred it had a too suggestive meaning. This ‘trunk tune,’ however, found its way into the Great American Songbook. This arrangement is an (interactive conversational) duet for soprano and baritone with piano accompaniment. Performance time: 3:38+-
