Composed by Phil Thrift. Latin,Pop. 17 pages. Phil Thrift #758124. Published by Phil Thrift (A0.1157792)."Are You The One?" is an original composition initially written for trombone quartet (listen to it on SoundCloud). With a few modifications, it also works well for clarinets. The piece is not technically difficult; the real challenge will be accurate playing, maintaining that bossa nova feel without a rhythm section. Your bass clarinet player will need to keep driving this piece forward. It will be ideal as a lighter number between other more demanding pieces in a concert program. "Are You The One?" is actually a song, so treat it as such. Each player should “sing” the melody lines when they have them! And, as usual in my pieces, every player has the lead at some point.
