Stewart (A0.1115567).Ary Barroso’s masterpiece "Aquarela do Brasil" (Watercolor of Brazil), written in 1939 and known in the English-speaking world simply as "Brazil", is one of the most famous Brazilian songs of all time. This samba heralded a new genre in Brazilian Popular Music: the samba-exaltação, a samba exulting in the beauties of the land, characterized by a broad melody and large orchestration. This arrangement is scored for 4-part SATB ensemble with piano accompaniment. It features the English text of S.K. (Bob) Russell for English speaking performers and audiences, but also contains Barroso’s original Spanish and Portuguese texts. Performance time: 3:05+-.
