SKU: A0.1487796

Composed by Traditional. Arranged by BRIAN W. COPPING. Contest,Festival,Folk,Historic,Traditional. 19 pages. EMK Music #1064734. Published by EMK Music (A0.1487796).

Scored for two Violins, Viola and Violoncello. There is an Alternative Violin 3 for Viola and an optional Contrabass part so the piece can be performed by a String Orchestra.
This Medley brings together two well-known Australian tunes with the Queensland version of Waltzing Matilda which, in spite of a catchy melody written by Marie MacPherson, is less well known than the version written by Banjo Patterson and Marie Cowan. Botany Bay was originally heard, under a different name, in both Melbourne and London in the Nineteenth Century as part of a Burlesque Musical, and Click Goes the Shears reflects the importance of the wool industry in Australia. The contrasting time signatures and tempos are, in some way, symbolic of the enormous variety found in this vast continent.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard’s global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters. ArrangeMe allows for the publication of unique arrangements of both popular titles and original compositions from a wide variety of voices and backgrounds.
