This is a truly moving rendition of the great patriotic song "America The Beautiful" for unaccompanied viola. The solo starts sotto voce, gradually building in intensity with double stops until it reaches two separate climaxes. It packs an impressive amount of emotion into a very playable arrangement (double stops go into 4th position). This is the perfect opener or closer to any performance!
Note that the live audio and video clips are from the solo cello version. The viola version is identical, up one octave.
