This song was a hit for Toto in 1983, and remained one of their most popular numbers throughout the life of the band. It is something of a fore-runner of pop's engagement with world music, taking explicit inspiration from Africa in both subject matter and musical substance, while at the same time acknowledging how fragmentary and partial that inspiration is for people who have only ever experienced Africa through the mass media.

The arrangement has the standard four parts, plus an optional extra pair of parts for fewer voices to add and extra textural layer onto it. It is notated in the traditional clefs for women's barbershop: treble and bass alta (i.e. sung an octave higher than written)
