The piece is a plea for Peace in times of war and desperation ... In trying to compose a quartet expressing hope for peace, I have tried to keep the style as melodious, harmonious and traditional as I could. Wishing to include an element of spirituality I have partly used a Byzantine Music inspired mode in the first part, and a hymn-like, pastoral melody in the second half. The melancholic atmosphere permeating the whole piece should speak for itself... This piece is a reworking and expansion of an existing recent composition for string trio and received first prize in the DONNE IN MUSICA Serbia, Composition Competition 2024.
