This is a piece to feature your two more advanced string players in your young orchestra as soloists. The harp part can also be played on the piano. Two beautiful Scottish folk songs "Oh Can Ye Sew Cushions" and "The Skye Boat Song" are combined to appeal to young and old. Some 3rd position is required in the 1st violins and 4th position in the 1st cellos, but the technical demands in the orchestra are not too demanding and easier parts for beginners are added.
