This is the final song on the Beatles Album, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. The song comprises of two independent sections written by Lennon and McCartney and linked by orchestral glissandos. Lennon's lyrics were inspired by newspaper clippings. An alarm clock was used to mark the end of Lennon's section and beginning of McCartney's was originally intended to be edited out. but left in the final recording as it complimented the first line, "I woke up and got out of bed". The line I'd love to turn you on" resulted in the record being banned by the BBC because of the supposed reference to drugs. The song has been covered by many artists and was ranked 28th greatest song of all time by Rolling Stone Magazine. Duration: 4.05.
