By Damien Rice. By Damien Rice. Arranged by Scott S. Stewart. Contemporary,Folk,Pop,Singer/Songwriter. Octavo. 13 pages. Scott S. Stewart #812329. Published by Scott S. Stewart (A0.1215599).

9 Crimes” by Irish coffeehouse troubadour Damien Rice was composed sometime during the previous two years before its 2006 release.  The lyrics contain a couple of Irish colloquialisms and metaphors for American performers to navigate.  Yet, compositionally this is just a familiar tale of infidelity sung over a simple harmonic-melodic ostinato.  This arrangement is scored for 4-part SATB ensemble with keyboard accompaniment.  Its simplicity beautifully creates emotional tension with its repetition.  Performance time: 3:55+-.
