I was hesitant yet excited before buying this product as I'd never bought an EMB edition before. Knowing they are the most authoritative edition available for the works of Liszt I was excited to see what of quality they were. As with all new scholarly editions (Chopin National Edition, Cooper Beethoven sonatas) this product whilst offering the most accurate and deliberated notation fell short on binding quality. The engraving is fine, and the printing is alright too, however the paper quality is low, the binding is surprisingly functional, the book won't sit flat but it won't close itself too much either. THE edition if you want to take a scholarly approach certainly, however the binding can't beat the draw and appeal of the Henle editions in my opinion.
