Composed by Maurice Ravel. Arranged by John Ivor Holland. 20th Century,Classical. Brass Band. 43 pages. John Ivor Holland #961184. Published by John Ivor Holland (A0.1376651).Composed in 1899 whilst Ravel was being taught by Fauré, this charming work was originally written for solo piano and then orchestrated in 1910. Sharing a passion for Spanish customs, like one of his contemporaries, Debussy, Ravel composed and dedicated this elegant work for his patron, the Princesse de Polignac, and he probably performed the work at the princess's home on several occasions. There have been thousands of performances across the world since then and is consistently voted into the ClassicFM Hall of Fame each year. This arrangement for brass band retains the original key and features several flourishes for vibraphone, which should not be rushed.
This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard’s global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters. ArrangeMe allows for the publication of unique arrangements of both popular titles and original compositions from a wide variety of voices and backgrounds.
