The Avengers is a British espionage TV series dating from the 1961 and ran for 161 episodes. The series focuses around the character John Steed (Patrick Macnee) and a succession of assertive, intelligent and stylish female assistants. The series originally had a theme by John Dankworth which was replaced when Diana Rigg joined the cast and the show was rebooted in 1965. This theme, by the late Laurie Johnson, was more dynamic and has remained popular to this day being covered many times. Johnson also composed the theme music to the 1976 sequel series 'The New Avengers'

The arrangement for Alto, Tenor and Baritone Saxes, Trombone and Drums brings the dynamism of the music to the fore. The trombone part features the famous riff and is challenging.
