This 6/8 concert march can fit almost anywhere in your concert program. It could be an opener, a feature and could even be a closer. Written in F Major with Bb Major at the trio, also with a drum break, der Karussellmarsch goes right back to traditions of old, but also has current chordal structure. The low-brass featured break-up strain is a theory nerd’s dream, as I wrote it in altered D Phrygian, or rather d minor, using g minor’s key signature. Relative elements of both major keys used in the piece. Like the Phrygian break-up strain, there are other elements that some would call modern as well, like the use of the bells as a slight discant in the main melody. You will not be disappointed with the hours of educational benefits within it's measures.
