Published by Braden Dees (A0.1356774).“Capital City March” is a tribute to the Tallahassee Community College director of Bands, Lisa Foltz, and the extraordinary musicians of the Capital City Band of TCC, a vibrant mix of students and community members of all backgrounds. Written as an expression of gratitude to Mrs. Foltz and the band, “Capital City March” seeks to capture the unique character and heritage of both the ensemble and the community it represents by means of a traditional march style with a modern flair. Established in 1924, and later revitalized at TCC in 1970, the band’s rich history intertwines with the diverse musical and educational landscape of the city of Tallahassee.
