Published by Martyn Johnson (A0.1318645).This is my version of the classic tune from the musical Guys and Dolls. Strangely it wasn't sung in the film but just used as a piece of incidental background music. Someone didn't realise it's true potential. My favourite version is by Chet Baker.
I was particularly pleased with the choice of chord and their voicings in this arrangement. A lot of drop 2 and rootless voicings a la Bill Evans and a little bit of jazz dissonance along the way. I take it through the keys of Bb and D major.
It's not too difficult to play. Please note this is a piano solo and doesn't feature notation of the other instruments on my YouTube video but was written for solo piano and sounds perfect as such.
I don't put dynamic markings in or fingering as no two piano teachers would ever agree on these things and prefer to leave this to the discretion of the individual player. I do include chord symbols which I often find the most useful when figuring out notes and/or trying to memorise them.
It's a lovely tune and I hope you get as much pleasure out of playing it as I did arranging it.
