Forest of the Birdsong is based upon the Symphonic Suite Sketches (2020), and is intended to pay tribute to the wisdom of the Native American people. The harmonic background was sketched from January 30-31, 2020, and the middle ground was sketched from June 6-19, 2020. Orchestration for violin and piano commenced from May 6-22, 2021. Arrangement for soprano saxophone and piano commenced from August 15-17, 2021.

The world premiere of Forest of the Birdsong took place on November 14, 2021, at the Crickets Theater of Buddy Holly Hall in Lubbock Texas with David Dees on soprano sax and Nataliya Sukhina on piano.
