Composed by Tielman Susato. Arranged by David Fetter. Renaissance. 8 pages. Gordon Cherry #838744. Published by Gordon Cherry (A0.1243774).

Die Schlacht is a lively and exhilarating piece of Renaissance music composed by Tielman Susato in the 16th century. The piece was originally written for the shawm, a popular woodwind instrument of the time, and features an energetic melody with intricate harmonies and driving rhythms. Die Schlacht translates to "The Battle", and the music is inspired by the martial spirit of the era in which it was composed. Today, the piece is often performed by modern ensembles using a variety of instruments, including brass and percussion, and remains a beloved example of early music.

This exciting arrangement by David Fetter which is very accessible to intermediate players and above, includes a Tenor Drum for added "umph" and may be performed by a Trombone Quartet or an "army" of Trombones in a Trombone Choir. All parts are in bass clef.
