The beginning introduces a simple and bouncy melody with odd time signatures and some dissonance.
It soon morphs into a slightly more reflective section with a more affluent chord development, and the playing range of the marimba is expanded. The melody is quickly returned but becomes louder and more involved in both hands until it pauses at a high A above the treble staff in the right hand.
A segment of the reflective section returns but is in a more straightforward form. It leads to a final iteration of the melody that is simple, like the beginning. Some delicate arpeggios soon follow, and the solo ends on a pleasant A Major chord.
